ONE HUGE TASK AHEAD TO SAVE MY WRITING CAREER

OVERWHELMED isn't going to save my writing career, which means I'm freaking desperate now with hardly anytime to fix things. Although I still have people helping with advertising it, I need to have another means to get ahead. So, this is what I'm going to do, and it's going to leave me absolutely exhausted after the time frame I've given myself.

1) I will write RICARDO in two weeks. Yup, I said two freaking weeks! I've already written 10,000 words, so have 70,000 left. After the 2 week period I will be sending the first lot of edits out, so whoever wants to beta read tell me. I've already got a couple of ladies from my author's face book page, so I'm open to including more. But, don't think the book will be shit because I'm writing it fast, I already have the structure and know where the story is going and basically what's going to happen. It's worked out, which is unusual for me as my stories are usually organic and takes me where it wants to go.

2) Basically, I want to get this book out by August. Yes, I was supposed to get Behind the Secrets out by August, but I know that book will only sell a handful and will be the end of the line for that series if I write it now, and there's no way in hell that I want Behind the Lives to finish since it's my favourite series out of all of my writing. So, it will just have to be pushed back to November. Don't worry, it's still being published, I just need to get a money making book done so I can keep writing. (And I'm not just after money, otherwise I wouldn't be a freaking writer, I get paid more to paint. All I want is to be paid more than a cent per hour for writing! I want to actually contribute to my family, not to lose money by writing these books. So, it's not for the money, it's for groceries, my kids' school fees, the clothes on our backs. It's a living I'm after - to actually get paid for my work).

3) Why do I think Ricardo will be a money maker. Because I am bowing down and giving in to writing a popular styled formula book, with a twist of course: the mafia. Though, I must admit, I do like this type of book, it's what I tend to read, and probably something I should've written a long time ago. So, what's the style? RICARDO is a HEA story, which is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone. It's also romance with a tinge of darkness. And for all of you who love My Masters' Nightmare. The Santini Brothers is a spin-off so will continue the story, throwing you into the mafia war caused by the Donatelli. It just won't have the freakiness of MMN. Anyway, you will see Bianca, she will be the main female in book 1, you will also see Alessandro, he will get his own book, and yes, Jagger and the other D'Angelos will have cameos.

4) My Masters' Nightmare Episode 11 is still on track to being published on time. I just thought I'd tell you that so MMN lovers don't panic.

5) Also, if you can, could you please tell your friends and make recommendations about my other books, whichever ones you like. I need help to get them more out there.

6) 100 ARCs will be sent out of RICARDO in July.

OVERWHELMED: The countdown to publication.

OVERWHELMED: Usually when I get to this stage of finishing a book, I publish it, no mucking around, I just do it. But that doesn't seem to be working for me, and since I've written OVERWHELMED for a wider market than usual I want to do things right. Which means: PROMOTION. At the moment the beta readers are reading through the book, just checking that there are no stray typos or mistakes. At a guess, they will probably finish by the end of this week. So, the plan is to send out the ARCs to blogsite reviewers next week. The ARC reviewing will probably go for two weeks, and while this is happening, I will finish up the paperback as well as do any promotional work for the book, because I'm sure once people start reading it I'll get questions flung my way. One of my beta readers has made an observation about the main character that I'm sure others will want to question me over. She said she will have a lot of questions for me once she's finished reading it. I'll keep my mouth zipped about why, because you guys can come to your own conclusions.

Anyway, May the 12th could possibly be when the book gets published. If I can get it into the top 100 on Kindle, I'm made, even in the top 500 is brilliant. This will be enough to get my man off my back and allow me to continue writing. How can I do this? Well, the book has to be good (which I hope it is), but I think promotion has proved to be the most important element. Word of mouth - telling your friends about the book, also if you're a blogger, pop up a review of it, or put one on Goodreads and Amazon. Especially those two last places, because they really make a huge difference. If I can get a lot of reviews, then more people will see OVERWHELMED and might buy it. Again, I'm aching to get this book out to you all. When you read it, you'll understand why.

Update: My Indiegogo Campaign for OVERWHELMED

The campaign to raise funds to self-publish my novel Overwhelmed is into day 4. There's another 46 days left. It's going good so far. $210 of the total has been raised, though I really could do with help in getting more exposure for the campaign, since there is a long way to go to reach the goal. It would be wonderful if you could put the Indiegogo link up onto your blogsites, tumblr pages, or share it on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, and other social media sites. I really want this book to be a success. I have been writing for a number of years now and feel like this is my last chance of making a success with my writing. I wouldn't ask for help if I didn't think OVERWHELMED didn't have the potential. Unlike my other books, it's a more mainstream story about relationship problems. The main character, Kelly Hamlin, is at a certain stage in her marriage where her love for her husband has become dulled down by the stresses of everyday life. She still loves him, but because of their differences and the troubles they are having with their daughter, as well as financial problems, they have grown apart. In an attempt to put some spice back into their lives, her husband suggests going to an adult club. And that is where things start going wrong. They meet Eric Firth there, and end up having a threesome with him. The husband isn't happy with what has happened, and throws Eric's card away after they leave, knowing the man wants more from his wife. However, Eric is not put off and finds a way back into Kelly's life, using his publishing business to entice her, since she is a writer.

The genres are romance, erotica, and family drama.

My Indiegogo Campaign to raise funds for my newest novel OVERWHELMED

On Sunday, I started a campaign on the site Indiegogo to raise funds so I could pay for my newest book OVERWHELMED to be published and promoted.
